I just read an article from Jan 2014 that discusses theoretical physicists’ idea that ‘consciousness is a state of matter’.
Why Physicists Are Saying Consciousness Is A State Of Matter, Like a Solid, A Liquid Or A Gas – ‘A new way of thinking about consciousness is sweeping through science like wildfire. Now physicists are using it to formulate the problem of consciousness in concrete mathematical terms for the first time.’
It seems they got it a bit upsidedown. I seems more correct to say that matter is a formation or state of consciousness.
Physicists gave the name ‘perceptronium’ to this state of matter, which seems very corny. Hard to take seriously.
‘[Max Tegmark] goes on to show how the particular properties of consciousness might arise from the physical laws that govern our universe. And he explains how these properties allow physicists to reason about the conditions under which consciousness arises and how we might exploit it to better understand why the world around us appears as it does.’
It’s interesting that it just doesn’t seem to occur to them that the physical laws that govern our universe arise from consciousness. Or that they are co-immergent/simultaneous.

I would like to give my opnion on this important matter. About mattter and consciousness, my opinion is that the earth goes every month around a point known as the E-M barycenter. This point manufactures the consciousness within us. This is the technical definition of consciousness called as the Purush or Shiva according to Hindu theology..(Refer Kalmadhava on Adhimasa.).Are you aware of this? The earth core is called as Prakriti or Shakti and is the ignorant matter.
